Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says he is not against the government trying to “clean up” the fuels used in cars.
The Albanese government announce new emission standards laws for petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.
Mr Canavan told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus that putting these standards in place without a “proper plan” for our refinery’s risks having all of Australia’s oil being imported from overseas.
“I don’t think that’s something we should want to go towards in this current environment.
“With conflict emerging all around the world.”
