We have been working on building a teardrop camper together, and the trailer is finally getting finished! We upgraded the axle and wheels while also strengthening the entire trailer by welding some new parts.
After all this work, we probably could have built this trailer from scratch, but things escalated quickly after purchasing this one.
We sprayed an all-black bed liner, and it looks INCREDIBLE!
Price Breakdown:
Trailer: $425 (You can use a 20% off coupon on this trailer and we actually found one on sale)
Tounge Box: $170
Axle Upgrade: $580
Tires: $170
2in Hitch Coupler: $22
Bed Liner: $100 (We used part of a kit)
2x2 Square Tubing: $40
Total Cost: $1507
Obviously, you can go buy a trailer new for $1500, however until you spend over $2000 we've found these small utility trailer to be extremely flimsy and they use crappy tires.
This obviously includes a tongue box and bed liner as upgrades too.
Our trailer lights will be in the camper and not on the trailer so they were not installed here.
Still, you could likely build a better trailer for less money starting from scratch.
